Alexey Chervonenkis

Alexey Chervonenkis is one of the founders of statistical learning theory. It can be argued (see, e.g., Vovk 2015, Section 11.2) that Chervonenkis is also one of the founders of conformal prediction. According to Chervonenkis (2015, p.7), in June 1966 he proposed what looks like a conformal predictor based on the generalized portrait method.
